How to deal with problems like an adult.

Hi everyone, welcome back. I'm on vacation in France and today I want to talk about a very important topic: how to deal with problems in life.

We all face challenges and difficulties, but sometimes we get stuck in a negative cycle of blaming ourselves, others, or the situation.

Here are some steps that I find helpful to break free and move on:

  1. Acknowledge the problem
The first step is to admit that there is a problem and that it is affecting you. Denying or avoiding the problem will only make it worse in the long run. You don't have to like the problem or agree with it. No amount of sweeping under the rug has ever helped anyone's mental health... ever!
  2. Identify what you have control over
The second step is to figure out what aspects of the problem you can influence or change, and what aspects you cannot. Focusing on what you can control will help you feel more empowered and proactive.
  3. Move on
The third step is to take action on what you can control, and accept what you cannot. This means doing your best to solve the problem or improve the situation, while also being realistic and flexible about the outcome. Or, shockingly, accept the problem and live with it. Voilà.

Remember that problems are inevitable (even when traveling in Southern France), but they are also manageable. You have the power to overcome.
